IEC Application
Introduction
• As per government regulations, IEC needs to be updated every year between April- June to ensure that it remains valid and in compliance with the DGFT Notification No. 58/2015-2020)
• The IEC is a 10-digit code that is mandatory for businesses engaged in import or export activities. It is issued by the Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). Failure to update your IEC can lead to deactivation and no import and export activity will be possible.
• To update your IEC, you will need to submit an online application through the DGFT website. The process is simple and can be completed within a few days. Once your application is approved, you will receive an updated IEC, which you can use for your import or export activities.
